Job Description

As a Procurement Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring that all services, materials, and equipment are procured in compliance with GIZ’s standard procedures. Your key responsibilities include:

• Procuring services, materials, and equipment for projects in accordance with GIZ guidelines.
• Providing timely updates on procurement status and tracking progress.
• Conducting market research and issuing invitations for tenders.
• Maintaining an updated supplier database.
• Checking and documenting goods received with technical advisors.
• Reviewing and processing invoices, goods receipts, and payment instructions.
• Advising on complex procurement cases and supporting audits.

Qualifications & Experience

To be eligible for this role, you should have:

• A BSc or MSc in Business Organisation, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Economics, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, ideally in an international organization.
• Strong knowledge of procurement procedures.
• Excellent English communication skills; knowledge of German is an advantage.
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, and IT-based accounting programs.
• A service-oriented, proactive mindset with excellent coordination skills.
• High attention to detail, integrity, and compliance standards.
