Job Vacancy: Finance and Administrative Officer (FAO)

Vibrant Village Foundation (VVF), a private US-based foundation, is seeking an experienced Finance and Administrative Officer (FAO) for its operations in the Upper West Region, Ghana. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in financial and administrative management, ensuring compliance and efficiency in VVF’s programs, which focus on Agriculture, Education, WASH, and Child Protection. About Vibrant Village Foundation: VVF supports sustainable community development programs in Ghana and Kenya. Since 2012, VVF has implemented impactful initiatives in the Upper West region of Ghana, empowering communities through agriculture, education, water, sanitation, hygiene (WASH), and child protection.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

Finance/Accounting Functions:

  • Maintain accurate financial records of transactions.
  • Assist in making accounting entries and preparing staff payroll.
  • Submit statutory returns to relevant authorities.
  • Process payments for services and workshop participants.
  • Safeguard financial documents and enforce compliance with policies.
  • Maintain organized records, both digital and physical.
  • Provide financial management training for staff and stakeholders.

Administrative Functions:

  • Manage office petty cash.
  • Maintain staff records and ensure proper documentation.
  • Collaborate with the Human Resource and Administrative Officer (HRAO) to maintain equipment and facilities.
  • Ensure policy adherence and compliance.

Reporting Duties:

  • Assist in preparing financial reports and cashbooks.
  • Share petty cash expenses for review and approval.
  • Contribute to semi-annual reports and review meetings.
  • Report suspected fraud or malfeasance promptly.
  • Handle additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • HND or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Banking (Master’s Degree is a plus).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software like QuickBooks.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in a non-profit organization.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work effectively in diverse cultural settings.
