The Forum for African Women Educationalists (FAWE) Ghana is looking for a qualified and passionate Human Resource/Safeguarding Officer to join their team. This full-time position, based in Accra, Ghana, plays a crucial role in managing employee welfare, safety, and ensuring a positive work environment.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of HR and safeguarding duties. Here’s a closer look:
- Human Resources Management: Oversee all aspects of the employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding to training, performance management, and benefits administration.
- Safeguarding: Implement and uphold safeguarding policies to protect staff and vulnerable individuals from harm within FAWE Ghana and its networks.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to labor laws and regulations.
- Positive Work Culture: Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive work environment for all employees.
You will also:
- Manage relationships with external stakeholders to support FAWE Ghana’s goals.
- Develop and implement HR initiatives and best practices to attract and retain top talent.
- Conduct HR data analysis and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Oversee the onboarding and offboarding process for new and departing staff.
- Facilitate staff welfare programs.
Qualifications
FAWE Ghana seeks a highly motivated and results-oriented individual with a strong background in HR. Here are the key requirements:

- Professional HR membership (IHRM, CHRP)
- Minimum 5 years of HR experience, with at least 3 years in a non-profit/NGO setting.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel & PowerPoint).
- Excellent problem-solving, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage diverse tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent writing skills.
- Experience working with gender and youth-based organizations.
- Fluency in English.
