Role Overview
We are seeking a Communications Manager, Africa to drive awareness and engagement in the region. Reporting to the Associate Vice President, Africa, with a matrixed reporting structure to the Director of Marketing, this role is ideal for a communications professional who thrives in strategic, creative, and analytical environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a regional marketing and communications strategy aligned with Cure Blindness Project’s goals.
- Lead storytelling initiatives to highlight our impact and inspire action.
- Manage multiple projects, ensuring high-quality content delivery within deadlines.
- Provide marketing support to regional teams with effective, on-brand materials.
- Serve as a brand ambassador, ensuring all communication reflects the dignity and resilience of the communities we serve.
- Oversee social media, media relations, and branding initiatives for key events.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of four years in marketing, communications, or public relations, preferably in Africa and within a nonprofit or global organization.
- Skills:
- Exceptional writing and storytelling ability.
- Strong organizational skills with a data-driven approach.
- Team-oriented with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Strategic thinker capable of leveraging partnerships and opportunities.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace, MS Office, Asana, and MacOS.
- Flexibility: Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
- Travel Requirement: Up to 20% domestic and international travel.
