Job Description
As the Chief Financial Control (CFO) at ASA Savings and Loans LTD, your role encompasses:
- Strategic Financial Alignment: Aligning financial planning and strategy with business objectives, including multi-year budgets and scenario modeling.
- Leadership in Financial Reporting: Leading the finance team to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory standards in financial reporting.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Managing the annual budgeting process, forecasting, and analysis to optimize financial performance.
- Asset and Liability Management: Overseeing the management of company assets and liabilities to mitigate financial risks.
- Financial Statement Preparation: Supervising the preparation of management accounts and financial statements according to IFRS.
- Timely Reporting: Ensuring timely delivery of financial reports to internal and external stakeholders.
- External Audit Management: Managing the external audit process for compliance with IFRS and regulatory standards.
- Financial Infrastructure Enhancement: Enhancing financial infrastructure to support future growth and stability.
- Statutory Compliance: Ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements, including tax obligations.
- Board Reporting: Delivering accurate financial reports and analysis to the board and executive team.
- Treasury Management: Leading treasury activities to improve liquidity and capital structure, including cash management and banking relationships.
- Currency Risk Management: Managing currency exposure to mitigate risks.
Qualifications and Experience
To qualify for the position, candidates should meet the following criteria:
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years in finance, banking, or accounting management roles.
- Education: Advanced degree in accounting, business, finance, or related field.
- Expertise: Proficiency in financial reporting, analysis, and IFRS standards.
- Budgeting and Forecasting Skills: Experience in financial budgeting and forecasting.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with finance principles, external audit, and international tax laws.
- Industry Experience: Banking or microfinance experience preferred.
- Leadership Abilities: Strong leadership and change management skills.
- Team Collaboration: Ability to work in a multicultural team environment.
- Communication Skills: Proficiency in verbal and written English.
- Technical Skills: Strong Excel and finance/accounting software proficiency.
