2024 WASSCE for Private Candidates Registration Deadline Approaches
The 2024 registration for the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for Private Candidates, which began on February 5, 2024, is set to close on September 30, 2024, at 11:59 PM. This registration period, often referred to as the “normal registration,” might be extended, or a late registration phase could be announced for students who haven’t registered yet.
WAEC had initially opened the 2024 Nov/Dec registration portal from April 2, 2024, until August 30, 2024, but later extended the deadline to September 30, 2024. The examination will be conducted from October 25 to December 18, 2024.

How to Register for the 2024 WASSCE (Nov/Dec)
- Visit the official WAEC Nov/Dec registration website.
- Complete the security information section, including your password and security question.
- Fill in your personal information.
- Upload your photograph and signature.
- Select the region and centre where you wish to take the examination.
- Choose the subjects you intend to sit for.
- Print your voucher and take it to any approved bank.
- Pay the registration fees at the bank or via Visa card online.
- Use your Invoice Number to access your Index Number and Admission Notice from mid-October 2024.
Missed a WASSCE for School Paper?
In related news, WAEC has advised final-year Senior High School students who were prevented from sitting for a WASSCE for School paper due to lateness to register for the WASSCE for Private Candidates (Nov/Dec) and sit for the missed paper.
“We have the school examination and the private examination, so for those who miss the opportunity of writing that particular paper on the day, they will have to register and write the WASSCE for Private Candidates,” a WAEC spokesperson stated.
