WAEC Releases Provisional Results of 37,825 Private WASSCE Candidates

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has unveiled the provisional results for 37,825 candidates who participated in the West African Senior School Certificate Examination for Private Candidates, 2023 – Second Series.

This cohort consisted of 17,389 male and 20,725 female candidates, including 16 visually impaired students. However, 1,231 candidates were absent from the exam.

WAEC has withheld the results of 289 candidates due to suspected examination malpractice, such as collusion, impersonation, and the use of unauthorized materials, including mobile phones. Investigations into these cases are ongoing, and outcomes will determine whether the results will be released or nullified.

The public is warned about fraudulent individuals who offer to manipulate results for a fee through mobile money transfers. WAEC emphasizes the security of its results database and encourages institutions to verify candidates’ results directly through their website or by downloading the WAEC QR code.

For further details on the provisional results released by WAEC, interested parties can refer to the official press release here.
