What You’ll Do
As a Finance Assistant at IOM, you’ll handle important money tasks. You’ll work under the Chief of Mission and help with:
- Money Management: Keep an eye on funds, supplies, and more, following IOM rules.
- Budget Work: Help make budgets, estimating costs and expenses.
- Data Entry: Put information into financial systems.
- Guidance: Give advice on money and budget stuff.
- Payroll: Help with monthly payments to staff.
- Payment Checks: Check if payments are authorized and supported by documents.
- Vendor Checks: Make sure vendor claims are correct.
- Reports: Help make financial reports and other reports.
- Staff Support: Assist staff with travel and expenses.
- Documents: Keep records properly.
- Petty Cash: Handle office cash.
- Other Tasks: Do other money-related jobs.
What You Need
Education:
- High School diploma with five years of relevant experience, or
- Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or similar, with three years of professional experience.
Experience:
- Good with Microsoft Office.
- Organized and detail-oriented.
- Willing to learn and work with different people.
- Experience with international organizations is a plus.
Skills:
- Work well with others.
- Get things done and be good at your job.
- Share knowledge and communicate well.
- Be responsible for your work.
Languages:
- You need to speak and write in English.
- Knowing French or another UN language is good.
