Exciting Opportunity: Deputy General Manager at PetroSA Ghana

Are you an experienced professional in the oil and gas industry looking for a senior leadership role? PetroSA Ghana is seeking a highly qualified Deputy General Manager to spearhead strategic growth, stakeholder relations, and regulatory compliance while driving business development in Ghana.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Business Development

  • Develop and execute strategic plans to optimize PetroSA Ghana’s business development in both upstream and downstream sectors.
  • Align business growth initiatives with the regulatory framework and shareholder objectives.

Portfolio and Risk Management

  • Oversee new asset portfolio management, including risk analysis (economic, environmental, social, and political risks).
  • Identify, evaluate, and conduct due diligence on new business opportunities.
  • Provide recommendations to senior management regarding new business developments and growth targets.

Stakeholder & Government Relations

  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with government officials, joint venture partners, and other stakeholders.
  • Enhance PetroSA Ghana’s reputation as a credible and professional organization with high integrity.

Regulatory Compliance & Administration

  • Ensure efficient office operations in compliance with Ghanaian and South African laws and PetroSA governance policies.
  • Participate in legal and commercial meetings to stay informed on existing operations and regulatory changes.

Financial & Budget Management

  • Formulate budgets for individual assets, exploration rights, and development permits.
  • Monitor expenditures and implement corrective actions for optimal financial performance.

Qualifications & Experience

Educational Requirements

  • Postgraduate Degree in Business Management, Commercial, Engineering, or Sciences.
  • MBA is an added advantage.

Experience & Skills

  • 10+ years in commercial/technical roles within the Oil & Gas industry (Upstream focus).
  • 5+ years in Business Development & Stakeholder Management.
  • 3+ years in a Senior Management position in Ghana.
  • Proven track record in stakeholder engagement, business expansion, and sales retention.
  • Expertise in Ghanaian oil and gas laws and licensing rounds.
