Role Purpose
We are seeking a skilled Cost Control Officer to support the Project Services & Business Improvement department. The successful candidate will assist in project cost management by maintaining accurate financial forecasts, tracking expenditures, and ensuring costs remain within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand and adhere to contract documents, agreements, and procedures related to project costing.
- Manage project budgets, committed costs, invoicing, and financial forecasts.
- Generate financial reports, including spend profiles, budgeted and earned values, and completion costs.
- Identify cost variances and propose corrective actions.
- Monitor project progress and identify potential financial risks.
- Track contractor costs and ensure compliance with contract terms.
- Review and approve contractor invoices and payment claims.
- Support financial reporting, including variance analysis and cash flow forecasting.
- Promote a strong Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) culture within the department.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in cost control, preferably in a mining environment.
- Basic understanding of Project Controls/Management concepts (WBS, Earned Value Management, Cost Reporting, SAP PS System).
- Experience in contracts and subcontract management (pre- and post-award).
- Knowledge of cost baseline development.
Key Competencies
- Ability to multitask and manage time efficiently.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Ability to build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships.

Job Vacancy: Safety Officer – Surface
Location: Ghana

Role Purpose
We are hiring a Safety Officer – Surface to oversee safety processes and enforce compliance with company policies on surface operations. Reporting to the Safety Superintendent – Surface, the role ensures a safe working environment for all personnel and contractors.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and address unsafe work conditions through regular inspections.
- Conduct planned safety audits to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Ensure all statutory occupational health & safety requirements are met.
- Participate in inspections and inquiries conducted by Mine Inspectors.
- Conduct formal risk assessments and implement corrective measures.
- Investigate incidents and recommend remedial actions.
- Conduct periodic on-the-job safety training for employees.
- Ensure all employees wear PPE and work with compliant tools and equipment.
- Facilitate safety meetings, including Toolbox and Safety Committee Meetings.
- Enforce health and safety protocols as required by AGAG and statutory bodies.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Engineering, Physical Sciences, or a related field.
- Certification in ISO 45001 internal/lead auditing.
- Certification in Process Safety Engineering or Management.
- Training in incident investigation methodologies (e.g., IIP, Taproot).
- Health and Safety Certificate of Competency from the Minerals Commission of Ghana (advantageous).
- Valid Ghanaian driving license.
Experience Required
- 4 – 8 years of experience in the mining industry.
- Knowledge of construction safety, project management, and green/brownfield projects.
- Familiarity with mine processing plants, surface infrastructure, and maintenance workshops.
- Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
