The U.S. Embassy in Accra, Ghana, is set to transition to a new visa services provider, bringing significant changes for visa applicants. This change will take effect on August 16, 2024, with a new website launching on August 26, 2024. Here’s what you need to know to ensure a smooth transition.

Important Transition Dates

  • August 16, 2024: The current visa service provider website, ustraveldocs.com, will no longer be accessible. Ensure you print all necessary documents, such as confirmation letters, before this date.
  • August 21, 2024: Last day to drop off documents at Premium Delivery locations.
  • August 23, 2024: Last day to drop off documents at Ghana locations for Embassy delivery.
  • August 26, 2024: The new visa appointment website will launch, allowing you to create a new account and manage your appointments.

Managing Your Visa Appointment

If you have an interview scheduled on or before August 16, your appointment remains valid and can be reviewed on the existing ustraveldocs.com until that date. For those with interviews between August 16 and August 26, ensure you print your confirmation letter beforehand, as rescheduling and customer service will not be available during this period.

For interviews after August 26, you will need to visit the new website to create an account and manage your appointment.

Preparing for Your Trip

  • Visa Application Fees: If you’ve already paid your visa application fee, schedule your appointment as soon as possible, especially if traveling in August or September when slots are limited.
  • Planning to Travel After September: To avoid any potential issues during the website transition, consider beginning your visa application process after August 26.
