“The music industry is not ready to endorse politicians” – Keche Andrew

Keche Andrew of the popular Keche fame has claimed that the music industry is not ready for political endorsement.

He rightly Indicated that the industry and country as a whole is not ready at all.

According to Keche Andrew, to me ready means you have a firm stand.

If you are ready, your career should not be affected if you endorse a political party or a politician.

To him, the direct opposite is what happens in Ghana.

Keche Andrew pointed his state of mind in an interview with Happy 98.9FM’s Doctar Cann on Showbiz Xtra.

He stated that as compared to other countries, Ghana has not grown in political issues.

In countries developed in politics, he said, artists are stable even after endorsing a political party.

It does not affect them in any way but the situation is different in Ghana.

He categorically stated that there are many Ghanaian musicians who had their careers cut short because they endorsed a political side.

Keche Andrew added that those celebrities always come out to complain about it and that should signal Ghanaians on certain issues.

Keche added that because of their fanbase, they will never jeopardize their career by endorsing a political side.

He attributed this decision to the fact that politics in Ghana is very emotional.

Also, they have fans who belong to different political parties so they will eventually divide if you endorse only one.

Keche is a musical duo and originate from Secondi in Ghana. They are one of the most popular hip-life and afrobeat musical group in Ghana.
The group consists of Joshua Kojo Ampah and Andrew Kofi Cudjoe popularly referred as Keche Joshua and Keche Andrew.
The have been active in the music scene for quite a long time now and have been on the top of many charts in Africa.
