Overview of the Role

The Teaching Hospital Logistics Support Officer will play a crucial role in managing and supporting logistics operations across various hospitals in Ghana. The position focuses on inventory management, data analysis, and ensuring the availability and accountability of health commodities for effective service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inventory Management: Support hospitals in conducting monthly physical counts of program commodities and submitting inventory reports.
  • Supply Chain Support: Assist in requisitioning commodities from the central level and input data into the GhiLMIS (Ghana Integrated Logistics Management Information System).
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze logistics data to inform decisions and provide timely reports on inventory and stock statuses.
  • Support for ART Clinics: Assist in medication refills and adherence counseling at the Anti-Retroviral Treatment (ART) Clinics.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with pharmacy management, central authorities, and various stakeholders to ensure effective service delivery.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Pharmaceutical Science, Health, Supply Chain, or Business-related discipline.
  • Experience: At least 5 years in supply chain management, particularly in order management, inventory control, and product distribution.
  • Skills: Strong data analysis, reporting, and presentation skills. A good understanding of Ghana’s public health value chain is required.
