It has been confirmed by the Ghana Education Service (GES) that SHS3 students have reopened for the 2nd semester today, January 3, 2025. Both day and boarding students in their final year are required to report to school to commence academic work and prepare for the 2025 WASSCE.

Key Points from GES Statement:

1. Reopening Date Unchanged: Despite concerns raised by the Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools (CHASS) about postponing reopening, the January 3, 2025 date remains unchanged.
2. Government Response to CHASS Concerns: The GES is working with the Ministry of Education to resolve issues raised by CHASS.
3. Academic Schedule for SHS3 Students:
   • School runs from January 3, 2025, to April 16, 2025.
   • Vacation: April 17–April 22, 2025.
   • Return to school: April 23–August 29, 2025.
   • WASSCE Exams: Scheduled for July–August 2025.

Calendar for Other Levels:

• SHS2 Students: Reopen on February 10, 2025.
• SHS1 Students (Double-Track):
  • Term 1 ends on February 7, 2025.
  • Term 2: May 26–July 25, 2025.
