General Requirements

To be eligible for the Ghana Immigration Service, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Nationality: Must be a Ghanaian by birth.
• Character: Must be of good character and have no criminal record.
• Employment History: Must not have been dismissed from any public service or any other employment.
• Age: Must be between 18 and 28 years old.
• Height: Minimum height of 5 feet 8 inches (173 cm) for males and 5 feet 4 inches (163 cm) for females.
• Health: Must be physically and medically fit according to GIS standards.
• Education: Must have a minimum of five passes in SSCE/WASSCE, including Mathematics and English as of 01/12/2021.
• Training: Must be prepared to undergo basic Immigration training and other forms of training.

Graduate General Duty

In addition to the general requirements, specific requirements for graduate applicants include:

Degree Holders:

• Age: Must not be more than 35 years old.
• Education: Must hold a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree (Second-Class Lower Division) from a recognized university as of 01/12/2021.

HND Holders:

• Age: Must not be more than 35 years old.

  Must hold an HND in any field of study from a recognized Polytechnic or Tertiary Institution accredited by the Ghana Accreditation Board as of 01/12/2021.
