Tragedy Strikes UDS Campus: Pharmacy Student Found Dead in Suspected Robbery
The University for Development Studies (UDS) in Dungu is reeling from the shocking death of Mohammed Zakiu Wunpini, a third-year pharmacy student. His body was discovered on the evening of September 25, 2024, in an unfinished building located between Citadel Hostel and Kumbung Hostel on campus.
Initial reports suggest that Zakiu may have been the victim of a robbery, as both his motorcycle and phone were missing from the scene. He had gone to watch a football match with a friend that evening but failed to return.
The university community has been left in grief, with students and staff struggling to come to terms with the loss. Campus authorities, including the Vice Dean, Dean of Students, and head of Security, have been actively involved, meeting with regional police to discuss the investigation’s progress.
