
Apostle Prof. Opoku Onyinah has said the governing party NPP failure to come out of the December 7 polls with a strong grip of parliament is a sign from God.
According to the immediate past chairman of the Church of Pentecost, the historic development is a message to the party. The NPP party must go back to the drawing board and make an honest assessment of its governance.
Rev Opoku Onyinah said this while delivering a sermon at the NPP’s thanksgiving service on December 27, 2020. He also called for unity between he two major political parties. He cautioned the two parties to ensure peace and satisfy the Ghanaian citizen.
Apostle Onyinah said during his sermon that Ghanaians want to see the two parties working together in the next Parliament. He made this declaration at the forecourt of the State House.
Although the NDC is challenging the claim and heading to court on Wednesday with an election petition. The New Patriotic Party used the church service to thank God for the party’s election victory.
Rev Opoku Onyinah whiles talking about free SHS policy, said that the policy seems to have an effect on many Ghanaians.
He is of the hope that the government will do equally good policies in other sectors. This should be done to ensure that all Ghanaians benefit from the national cake.
After he December 7 parliamentary elections, NPP came out with 137 seats while the NDC also captured 137 seats.
NDC is claiming that the Techiman South seat has been won by them. However, there is an Independent Candidate who has already declared his support to the NPP.
President Nana Akufo-Addo promised not to deprived the many Ghanaians who did not vote for him of development. The President was speaking at the same event.
Nana Addo singled out those who voted against him. He said, he has their interst at heart and in mind in all that he does.
President Akufo-Addo said “I want to thank the people of Ghana for maintaining their confidence in the leadership of the nation, especially the over 6.7 million people who voted for me. But in singling them out, I want to also assure the 6.2 million people who did not vote for me, that I will have their interests at heart and in mind in all that I do,”.
