Role Overview: Technical Advisor – Sustainability
As a Technical Advisor, you will be responsible for:
✅ Developing & implementing sustainability standards for the cashew value chain, including climate adaptation and mitigation measures (CO2 management).
✅ Advising partner organizations on sustainability strategies and best practices.
✅ Organizing & managing training programs, workshops, and forums related to sustainability in agriculture.
✅ Collaborating with private sector stakeholders to integrate sustainability measures into their operations.
✅ Monitoring industry trends, policies, and regulations to ensure project alignment with sustainability goals.
✅ Developing technical guides & manuals on sustainability standards, climate finance, and resilience measures.
✅ Conducting research & analysis on sustainability indicators and climate resilience.
Required Qualifications & Experience
✔️ Educational Background:
- A University degree in agriculture, agribusiness, natural resource management, environmental management, sustainability management, or rural development.
✔️ Professional Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in sustainability and climate-resilient value chains.
- Experience in climate adaptation, certification processes, and climate finance within the agricultural sector.
- Prior experience advising private sector companies on sustainability standards.
✔️ Technical & Soft Skills:
- Fluent in English & French (both oral and written).
- Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to develop and implement sustainability strategies.
- Experience in knowledge management & stakeholder engagement.
