The Ministry of Health, in partnership with the Global Fund, is seeking applications for the position of Teaching Hospital Logistics Support Officer. This role supports logistics and supply chain management at Teaching Hospital Medical Stores (THMS) and Anti-Retroviral Treatment (ART) Clinics in Ghana. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring product availability, accountability, and data visibility to enhance healthcare delivery and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities of the Logistics Support Officer
- Inventory Management: Conduct monthly physical counts for program commodities at THMS and ART Clinics.
- Reporting and Data Analysis: Prepare and submit inventory reports via GhiLMIS with recommendations for timely decision-making.
- Supply Chain Coordination: Manage commodity requisitions and assist with central-level bi-monthly distributions.
- Database Management: Maintain accurate consumption data and logistics databases.
- Technical Support: Develop and implement action plans to resolve supply chain issues.
- Monitoring and Evaluation: Participate in program monitoring activities and support the implementation of national supply chain reforms.
- Client Support Services: Assist in medication refill management and adherence counseling.
- Other Duties: Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience Required
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Pharmaceutical Science, Health, Supply Chain, or Business Management.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of professional experience in supply chain management, including order management, inventory control, and warehousing.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in data analysis, reporting, and use of logistics systems like GhiLMIS.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Problem-Solving Abilities: Resourcefulness and capability to work independently or in a team.
- Flexibility: Ability to learn new technologies and perform under pressure.
- Language Proficiency: Excellent command of English.
