Company Overview
AngloGold Ashanti (Ghana) Limited, Obuasi Gold Mine, is nearing completion of its redevelopment phase, evolving into a modern, fully mechanized underground mining operation. With a production capacity of up to 5,000 t/day, we are seeking a Mine Planning Superintendent to join our team and contribute to efficient and sustainable mining operations.
Role Overview
As the Mine Planning Superintendent, you will be responsible for ensuring the mine planning process is well-structured, efficient, and aligned with the company’s production goals. Your role will involve analyzing mining data, optimizing schedules, and integrating technical solutions to improve mine operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute mine planning strategies to enhance efficiency.
- Generate 12-month mine schedules, integrating geotechnical data and diamond drilling activities.
- Optimize and implement long-term mining plans, including resource allocation and budgeting.
- Analyze market trends and technical reports to improve decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies.
- Provide leadership and training to the mine planning team.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering (Postgraduate degree is a plus).
- Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in long-term mine planning in underground mining.
- At least 3 years at a senior supervisory level in mine planning/technical departments.
Technical Competencies
- Proficiency in Mine Planning Software (Datamine Studio UG, EPS preferred).
- Strong knowledge of underground mining methods.
- Blasting Certificate of Competency (required).
- Mine Rescue and Shift Boss Certificates (preferred).
- Ability to interpret data and implement tactical mining decisions.
