Job Overview

The Internal Audit Manager will support the Group Chief Internal Auditor in developing strategic plans, risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with auditing standards. The successful candidate will work in partnership with management and internal audit staff to enhance internal controls and improve governance practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the development and implementation of an Internal Audit Strategic Plan aligned with the company’s vision.
• Support the preparation of annual budgets and training plans to address skills gaps.
• Assess and improve standards, policies, and procedures related to risk, governance, ethics, and safety.
• Conduct risk assessments across departments and develop a risk-based audit plan for approval.
• Oversee audit planning, fieldwork, and reporting processes.
• Evaluate and enhance internal control systems and eliminate redundant procedures.
• Contribute to budgeting and timeline development for audits.
• Conduct operational, financial, and IT audits, including implementation and post-implementation reviews.
• Review audit work papers for clarity, completeness, accuracy, and compliance with audit methodologies.
• Identify continuous professional development opportunities for audit staff.
• Provide training sessions on audit techniques and changes in professional standards.
• Supervise and evaluate daily activities of the Internal Audit team.
• Discuss audit findings and recommendations with the Group Chief Internal Auditor.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential Requirements

• A minimum of a first degree in Business Administration or an equivalent field.
• Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CIA, ICA, or CIMA are preferred.
• A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience at a managerial level.
