Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Reporting:
- Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
2. Accounts Payable:
- Process and pay invoices promptly.
- Reconcile statements and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate records of all accounts payable transactions.
3. Accounts Receivable:
- Invoice customers and track payments received.
- Follow up on overdue payments and resolve billing issues.
- Reconcile bank accounts and maintain accurate records of transactions.
4. General Ledger Accounting:
- Maintain the general ledger and post journal entries.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts to subsidiary ledgers.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
5. Budget Preparation and Analysis:
- Prepare annual budgets.
- Monitor performance through variance analyses.
6. Special Projects:
- Participate in special projects as assigned by the Executive Director.
Qualifications and Experience
- Education: A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience: 2-3 years in a finance or accounting role.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Certification: Partly or fully qualified with ICAG or ACCA.
