Since 2012, we have focused on improving livelihoods through programs in Agriculture, Education, WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene), and Child Protection. Our work in Ghana targets rural communities, fostering growth and sustainability.
Roles and Responsibilities of the Field Officer:
Community and Stakeholder Mobilization:
- Identify and enroll communities in the program.
- Adhere to community entry protocols and build relationships with stakeholders.
- Mobilize beneficiaries for participation in programs like LIFE, E-CLIP, and WASH.
- Facilitate the establishment of program structures (VSLA, FBOs, Girls Clubs).
- Act as a liaison between VVF and target communities.
- Engage opinion, traditional, and religious leaders to strengthen program implementation.
Training, Mentorship, and Coaching:
- Assist in developing training materials and deliver training sessions.
- Mentor and coach beneficiaries to implement program activities effectively.
- Provide psychosocial support to vulnerable children and enhance child protection systems.
- Promote sustainable agricultural practices and support farmers.
Planning, Monitoring, and Reporting:
- Contribute to quarterly and annual planning and budgeting processes.
- Ensure timely implementation of project activities.
- Utilize M&E tools for data collection and reporting.
- Document success stories, best practices, and lessons learned.
- Submit weekly, monthly, and activity-based reports.
Stakeholder Engagement and Partnerships:
- Foster collaborations with government agencies, CSOs, and private sector actors.
- Represent VVF in stakeholder meetings under the supervision of coordinators.
Other Duties:
- Provide administrative support as needed.
- Perform any other assigned responsibilities aligned with organizational goals.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Agronomy, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or equivalent field experience.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role within an NGO.
- Ability to ride a motorbike over long distances.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in English with excellent verbal and written communication.
- Proficiency in Sissali and/or Dagaare language is an added advantage.
- Commitment to rural development and improving community well-being.
- Basic computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
