The Forum for African Women Educationalists (FAWE) Ghana is looking for a qualified and passionate Human Resource/Safeguarding Officer to join their team. This full-time position, based in Accra, Ghana, plays a crucial role in managing employee welfare, safety, and ensuring a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of HR and safeguarding duties. Here’s a closer look:

  • Human Resources Management: Oversee all aspects of the employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding to training, performance management, and benefits administration.
  • Safeguarding: Implement and uphold safeguarding policies to protect staff and vulnerable individuals from harm within FAWE Ghana and its networks.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to labor laws and regulations.
  • Positive Work Culture: Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive work environment for all employees.

You will also:

  • Manage relationships with external stakeholders to support FAWE Ghana’s goals.
  • Develop and implement HR initiatives and best practices to attract and retain top talent.
  • Conduct HR data analysis and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Oversee the onboarding and offboarding process for new and departing staff.
  • Facilitate staff welfare programs.

Qualifications

FAWE Ghana seeks a highly motivated and results-oriented individual with a strong background in HR. Here are the key requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field (with a Master’s degree being an advantage).
  • Professional HR membership (IHRM, CHRP)
  • Minimum 5 years of HR experience, with at least 3 years in a non-profit/NGO setting.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel & PowerPoint).
  • Excellent problem-solving, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage diverse tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent writing skills.
  • Experience working with gender and youth-based organizations.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Commitment to FAWE Ghana’s mission, vision, and values.
