Job Summary
The Chief Geophysics Specialist will oversee seismic acquisition and processing projects, ensuring high-quality data for exploration and development. The role involves advanced seismic data interpretation, rock physics analysis, and integration of geophysical datasets with geological models. The successful candidate will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize asset exploration and provide strategic recommendations.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and execute seismic acquisition and processing projects.
- Analyze seismic data, perform AVO/AVA analysis, and integrate geophysical datasets.
- Evaluate geophysical data for exploration and reservoir characterization.
- Prepare and review project scopes to enhance exploration strategies.
- Conduct well-to-seismic ties to improve geological model accuracy.
- Provide technical expertise on best practices for seismic data acquisition and processing.
- Document project results and present findings to management and regulatory agencies.
Qualifications & Experience
- MSc in Petroleum Geosciences, Geophysics, or Geology.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in geophysical roles, including seismic interpretation, AVO/AVA analysis, rock physics, or data processing.
- Strong expertise in seismic data applications for unconventional resources and/or carbonate environments.
- Proficiency in seismic interpretation software such as Petrel, IHS-Kingdom, Landmark, GeoFrame, Jason Geosciences, Hampson-Russell, or RokDoc.
