The Accra Institute of Technology (AIT), a leading private university in Ghana, is inviting applications for two key roles: Campus Computer Network System Administrator and Computer Lab Support Staff and Software/System Development and Support Specialist. Position 1: Campus Computer Network System Administrator and Computer Lab Support Staff
Key Responsibilities
Successful candidates will support and manage the university’s campus network infrastructure and computer labs. Duties include:
- Troubleshooting and administering the existing network.
- Building and configuring new network and server infrastructure.
- Resolving advanced help desk issues.
- Configuring and supporting users on the network.
- Auditing systems and monitoring servers for performance issues.
Required Skills and Experience
Applicants must demonstrate the following:
- 3+ years of experience in:
- Configuring Windows 2008+ servers.
- Managing Cisco routers and switches.
- Troubleshooting desktops and laptops.
- Certification in CCNA or higher. Preference for those with Microsoft certifications.
- Strong problem-solving skills, adaptability, and ability to work in a team.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- 3-5 years post-qualification experience in a dynamic organization.
Position 2: Software/System Development and Support Specialist
Key Responsibilities
The specialist will focus on developing and maintaining software systems for academic and administrative functions, including the Learning Management System (LMS). Responsibilities include:
- Managing LMS installations, configurations, and upgrades.
- Troubleshooting PHP code and system performance.
- Developing and customizing WordPress websites and plugins.
- Ensuring smooth user authentication and course enrollment processes.
Required Skills and Experience
Applicants must possess:
- 3+ years of experience in:
- PHP and WordPress development.
- Customizing CMS modules.
- Writing quality HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Strong knowledge of web hosting and troubleshooting.
- Experience with requirements gathering and analysis.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in a dynamic organization.
