
The leading opposition party, the National Democratic Congress has become a laughing stuck. By virtue of its decision not to challenge the verdict of the Electoral Commission in the just-ended presidential results in court.
Dr. Akwasi Amakye Boateng, a lecturer at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology says NDC should accept defeat. The political science lecturer has said for the peace of the country, the NDC should accept the verdict of the Electoral Commission.
He stated that what happened in 2016 where then opposition party, NPP taught the election was rigged. The NPP challenged the results of the election in the Supreme Court. NDC described their action as ‘any idiot can go to court’. He said it is time for the NDC to remember that God is laughing at them.
Dr. Amakye Boateng who was speaking on Kumasi-based Akoma FM has admonished Ghanaians. He has urged all meaning Ghanaians to turn blind eye on the protestation match across the country by the NDC.
The KNUST lecturer told the host of the program that Ghanaians should not beg NDC. The political science lecturer said if NDC has any problem with the results, they should send their petition to the Supreme Court. Just like what the NPP did in 2016. Dr. Akwasi Amakye added that both NPP and NDC should know better.
Mr. Abraham Amaliba, a legal member of the NDC has said that the evidence of the election irregularities gathered by lawmakers will be submitted. Mr. Amaliba said the evidence will be submitted to the NDC candidate John Mahama. Former President Mahama will decide the next line of action for the party.
Mr. Abraham Amaliba has said the team looked at issues. Issues of padding and swapping of votes and also under voting and overvoting for the presidential election.
