About Ghana Scholarship Secretariat Shortlist
The Ghana Scholarships Secretariat following a directive from H. E. President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in a Press Conference officially opened the online scholarship application portal to accord applicants the opportunity to apply for a scholarship for their tertiary education.
Local Tertiary Scholarship was introduced by H. E. President Akufo-Addo in the year 2017 and had it decentralized and digitized in the 2019/2020 academic year.
The scholarship covers academic facility user fees or tuition fees for all accredited local tertiary institutions, both public and private.

Currently, the second batch of payments has been made to three thousand, five hundred and seventy one (3,571) beneficiaries across all districts in Ghana. This ranges from all levels of tertiary education and a mix of all programmes of study.

The Ghana scholarship secretariate respectfully writes to inform you that, the Nationwide district scholarship selection interviews for the 2021/2022 academic year commences on Monday 23rd August 2021 in all the 260 MMDAs in Ghana
The establishment of the Online Portal is in keeping with President Akufo-ambition Addo’s to automate and formalize the difficulties faced by candidates seeking government sponsorships, as well as to assist the Secretariat in the effective and efficient management of scholarships in Ghana.
The just ended online application process is expected to award Scholarship to 70,000 people for 2020/2021 academic year
As a result, the Scholarship Secretariat, in partnership with GETfund, has made a provision for students in local tertiary institutions to receive eighty million Ghana CEDIs (GH$80.000.00).
