Ghana Air Force Regular Officer Recruitment 2024

The Ghana Air Force is currently recruiting for various officer vacancies, seeking qualified individuals for specialized roles. Below are the branches and their respective qualifications required for applicants:

1. Air Branch (Pilot and Air Traffic Control Operations)

  • Pilot:
    • Must hold an initial Degree (minimum of Second Class Lower) in Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Statistics, or Computer Science.
    • Must have completed science subjects at the Senior High School level.
    • Must possess a Commercial/Airline Transport Pilot License.
  • Air Traffic Control Operations:
    • Must have an Aerodrome/Approach Control License, with a Degree (minimum of Second Class Lower) in Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Statistics, or Computer Science.
    • Must have completed science subjects at the Senior High School level.

2. Supply Branch

  • Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree with not less than Second Class Lower honors in any of the following fields:
    • Administration (Finance, Accounting, Marketing, Purchasing)
    • Commerce
    • Economics
    • Logistics/Procurement and Supply Chain Management
  • Professional Qualification: Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) or Chartered Institute of Logistics and Supply Chain Management (CISCM).

3. Administration Branch

  • Qualifications: A First Degree not below Second Class Lower in Business Administration or any of the following fields:
    • Commerce (Management), Arts, Social Science, Business Management, Public Administration, Economics, Management Studies, Human Resource Management.
  • Professional Qualification: Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA).

4. Engineering Branch

  • Qualifications: A First Degree not below Second Class Lower in the following fields:
    • Mechanical: Aerospace Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering.
    • Avionics: Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering.
    • Engineer Corps: Civil Engineering, Electrical/Renewable Energy Engineering, Mechanical/Agricultural Engineering, Building Technology/Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Geomatic/Geodetic Engineering, Structural Engineering.
    • Electrical/Electronic Engineers: Electrical/Electronic Engineering, BTech Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Engineering.
    • Mechanical Engineers: Mechanical Engineering, Material Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Automobile Engineering.
    • Combat Engineers: Civil Engineering, Electrical/Renewable Energy Engineering, Mechanical/Agricultural Engineering, Building Technology/Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Geomatic/Geodetic Engineering, Structural Engineering, Project Management.

5. Ordnance Corps (Base Ammunition Depot Only)

  • Qualifications: An undergraduate certificate not below Second Class Lower in:
    • Chemistry/Biochemistry, Industrial Chemistry/Physics, Chemical Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics.
  • Additional Requirement: Certification in Ammunition Technology/Explosive Ordnance Disposal Level 3 is an added advantage.

6. Education Corps

  • Qualifications: A First Degree not below Second Class Lower in languages such as:
    • Language Translation/Interpretation in French, Spanish, Arabic, Russian, German, or Chinese.
  • Additional Asset: Proficiency in German or Portuguese as a third language may be preferable.

7. Public Relations

  • Qualifications: A First Degree in one of the following fields at a minimum of Second Class Lower:
    • Communication Studies, Fine Arts (NAFTI), Public Relations, or Journalism.
