Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the Chevening Scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be a citizen of one of the eligible territories.
- Return to your home country for at least two years after completing your scholarship.
- Have at least two years of work experience.
- Hold an undergraduate degree that qualifies you to pursue a master’s degree program in the UK.
- Have an unconditional offer letter for at least one of the eligible courses by July 11, 2024 (17 BST).
Grounds for Disqualification
Applicants are not eligible if they:
- Have previously studied in the UK on government funding.
- Hold British or dual British citizenship (excluding citizens from British Overseas Territories or BN(O) applying from Hong Kong).
- Have refugee status in a non-eligible country (however, if you are a citizen of an eligible country and registered as a refugee in another eligible country, you may still qualify).
- Are employees, former employees, or relatives of employees of the UK government, British Embassies/High Commissions, the British Council, the Association of Commonwealth Universities, or sponsoring UK universities. If you are an employee, former staff, or relative of staff from the scheme’s partner organizations and the employment occurred within the last two years, you cannot receive an award from the organization you are affiliated with.
