Applications for Appointments at KNUST Obuasi Campus

The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi (KNUST) invites applications from qualified persons for appointment as Professors, Associate Professors, Senior Lecturers, Lecturers and Assistant Lecturers in the under listed Departments at its Obuasi Campus:

1. Mathematics:Two positions. Expertise – Applied Mathematics
2. English:Two positions. Expertise – English (Language and Literature)
3. Geological Engineering:One position. Expertise – Engineering Geology and Mine Geotechnics
4. Mechanical Engineering:One position. Expertise – Design and Manufacturing and/or Applied Mechanics
5. Materials Engineering:One position. Expertise – Physical and Extractive Metallurgy
6. Civil Engineering:One position. Expertise – Geotechnical and /or Structural Engineering with at least five (5) years industrial experience.

Qualification and Experience

1. PROFESSOR

For appointment to the grade of Professor, applicant must have a PhD in the area of expertise from a recognised University and must have served as Associate Professor or analogous grade, in a recognised institution for a minimum of THREE years. Applicants must have a minimum of ten (10) publications in high-impact journals.

2. ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR

For appointment to the grade of Associate Professor, applicant must have a PhD in the area of expertise from a recognised University and must have served as Senior Lecturer or analogous grade in a recognised institution for a minimum of FOUR years. Applicants must have a minimum of eight (8) publications in high-impact journals.

3. SENIOR LECTURER

For appointment to the grade of Senior Lecturer, applicant must have a PhD in the area of expertise from a recognised University and must have served as Lecturer or analogous grade in a recognised institution for a minimum of FOUR years. Applicants must have a minimum of six (6) publications in high-impact journals.

4. LECTURER

For appointment to the grade of Lecturer, applicants must have a PhD in the area of expertise from a recognised University. Additionally, applicants must possess the relevant teaching, research or other experience relevant to this position.

5. ASSISTANT LECTURER

For appointment to the grade of Assistant Lecturer, applicants must possess a Research Master’s Degree in the area of expertise from a recognised University. Additionally, applicants must possess the relevant teaching, research or other experience relevant to this position.

Note: Successful applicants will be stationed at the Obuasi Campus of the University.

Renumeration

Salary, allowances and other emoluments are attractive.
