AN UPCLOSE WITH THE RISING IDDRISU MUBARIK.
Iddrisu Mubarik is a Ghanaian young boy who was born to parents Haruna Iddrisu (father) and Fuseini Muniratu (mother) in the suburbs of Hausa Zongo in the Tamale Metropolis in the Northern Region on the 30th November, 2004.
He attended Manhalia Islamic school where he attained his basic education from Kindergarten to Junior High and then proceeded to Northern School of Business (NOBISCO) all located in the Tamale his city of birth.

At a young age, Mubarik exhibited intense athleticism with speed and energy. He developed an interest in sports where he played football, he played football with lots of passion which made spectators love how he played.
He started his official football career with Real Republicans popularly known as “Reps” also located in Tamale, in the Northern Region of Ghana in the year 2009 as a Central Defender.
While Playing his main position as a Central Defender, his coaches discovered a special position for him as a result of the kind of speed and energy he possessed. They played him at the Right back position where he played as a Right back. He is very aggressive, both in the air and on the ground and hardly does striker win an air ball against him. He is also very accurate when it comes to long ball passing techniques and a high sense of anticipation. Very clear and sound communication to the entire team starting from the back line to the midfield and to the attackers. He also exhibits a lot of leadership qualities both on-field and off-field due to the command he has over his team mates.
He was chosen as a Captain for his team the Real Republicans “Reps” in the third division where he won major trophies for his Club and currently he is the assistant Captain of a Second division team who are preparing for this year’s MTN FA Cup Tournament in Ghana.

HIS JOURNEY SO FAR AS FOOTBALL PLAYER.
His journey so far as a football player is being good even though after playing for the Real Republicans “Reps” for more than a decade he hasn’t reach where he aspires to be He is working very hard to reach the top level but the time hasn’t come yet.
CHALLENGES HE FACES AS A FOOTBALL PLAYER.
He is from a surviving family who does not have manager to support him. As a result of the financial constraints he faced as a footballer and student led him into Fashion and Designing where he earns some income to buy his football accessories such as football boots, jerseys and panties. He goes for work in the morning from 8am to 3pm then he leaves for training that’s how he managed his work and training as well.
WHAT MOTIVATES HIM TO KEEP PLAYING?
What motivates him as a young footballer is seeing his colleagues signing for clubs in Europe and other countries and he can’t wait to sign for any team that may need his service. Seeing his colleagues sign gives him hope that there are better days ahead for him as a football player.
This alone boasts his morale whenever he is on the field of play you can imagine the kind of defensive works he will be doing at the back
HIS DREAMS AND ASPIRATIONS.
He dreams of playing in any of the top flight leagues such as English premier league, La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A and League 1. He is a Manchester United fan and also dreams to play for the team in the coming years. He also aspires become an example for the upcoming generations from his community and to the world at large.
He looks up to so many experienced defenders and learn more but also he chooses Manchester City’s star defender John Stones as his role model, a name which most his teammates and fans call him with.
Speaking to news360gh.com, Mohammed, former team mate and school mate stated “growing up I played a lot of matches for my school and team, at the team level I played with Mubarik. His confidence on the ball was on different next level, his stuck to me like a bug and made me feel I was being tackled by a different being”. Mohammed also added “his attitude inside the pitch is the exact opposite of his life attitude outside the pitch so calm and respectful and was very commended by most coaches we played for and against. I know what he can do when he gets a chance and I know he will make his family and country very proud.
