A bride marries a photo of her groom, who couldn’t attend the wedding due to being busy abroad.

Bride Says “I Do” to Framed Photo of Groom in Unconventional Wedding

A bride in Nigeria has sparked a social media frenzy after walking down the aisle holding a framed photo of her groom, who couldn’t attend the wedding in person.

The couple, who reportedly met online, decided to get married after numerous chats and phone calls. However, the groom, residing overseas, cited work commitments as the reason for his absence. He reportedly sent money and his picture to the bride in Nigeria.

Photos circulating online show the bride clutching the framed photo throughout the ceremony, even posing with bridesmaids and groomsmen. The unconventional wedding has divided social media users.

Some, like Anthony Enwere, believe the groom’s absence might be due to immigration issues. Enwere speculates that the groom might not have the necessary documentation to return to his home country after leaving.

Others, like Emmanuel Arome, defended the groom, pointing out that sending money suggests his commitment to the marriage. Arome reasons that if the groom’s intentions were not genuine, he wouldn’t have sent a significant amount of money.

However, Jane Ofili Igwe expressed a different perspective, initially mistaking the wedding photos for a funeral due to the table and cake resembling a decorated casket with a picture of the deceased.
