Job Description

As a Data Processing Officer, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks to ensure smooth data operations:

  1. Assisting with Various Tasks:
    • Provide support for other work processing or tasks as needed.
  2. Document Organization:
    • Organize documents and prepare and code data for entry into the computer system.
  3. Discrepancy Investigation:
    • Investigate and reconcile any discrepancies in files to maintain data accuracy.
  4. Communication Handling:
    • Answer phones, screen calls, and respond to inquiries, transferring calls to the appropriate office or individual. Compose correspondence in response to inquiries.
  5. Data Entry:
    • Enter data into the system via on-line terminals and other data entry devices. Verify data accuracy and completeness.
  6. Reference Material Maintenance:
    • Maintain a library of reference material necessary for accurate coding.
  7. Filing Management:
    • File materials into the proper location for easy retrieval.

Qualification Requirements

To be eligible for this position, candidates should meet the following qualifications:

  • Administrative Familiarity:
    • Familiarity with administrative duties.
  • Office Equipment Experience:
    • Experience using office equipment such as fax machines and scanners.
  • Typing Skills:
    • Demonstrated typing speed and accuracy.
  • Language Proficiency:
    • Excellent knowledge of correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
  • Attention to Detail:
    • Strong attention to detail.
  • Confidentiality:
    • Ability to handle information with confidentiality.
  • Education:
    • HND or higher.
