2024/25 SHS and TVET Placements Released: Over 553,000 Students Secure Admission!

In exciting news for students and parents, the Ministry of Education has officially released the 2024/25 school placements for Senior High Schools (SHS) and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions. This placement announcement marks a major milestone, providing thousands of qualified students with the opportunity to secure spots in their desired institutions for the upcoming academic year.

Placement Results

The Ministry’s statement revealed that out of the 563,339 student results received from the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), an impressive 553,155 candidates met the criteria for placement. From this group:

  • 447,698 students, making up 80.93%, successfully gained placement in one of their selected schools.
  • Unfortunately, 104,918 qualified students were unable to secure a spot in their chosen schools.

Self-Placement Option for Students

For students who did not receive placement in any of their preferred schools, the Ministry has activated a Self-Placement platform. This allows eligible candidates to select from a list of schools that still have available spaces, giving them a chance to secure admission.

How to Check Your Placement Status

To check placement status, students should:

  1. Visit the official CSSPS websites at www.cssps.gov.gh or www.cssps.org.
  2. Enter their ten-digit index number followed by their year of completion (e.g., 123456789024 for the year 2024).
  3. Submit the information to view their placement results.

Support and Help for Families

To further assist students and their families, the Ministry has set up a National Solution Centre at GNAT Hall in Adabraka, Accra, alongside 16 Regional Solution Centres across the country. Additionally, a helpline is available at 0308258001 for placement-related inquiries.

This year’s placements reflect the Ministry’s commitment to making education accessible to Ghanaian students across all regions. The Ministry encourages all students and parents to make use of these resources to ensure a smooth placement process and a successful start to the academic year.
