Ghana Declares Public Holiday for 67th Independence Day Celebration

The Ministry of the Interior has announced that Wednesday, March 6, 2024, will be observed as a national public holiday in commemoration of Ghana’s 67th Independence Day.

In accordance with this declaration, government offices, agencies, schools, and businesses will remain closed as a mark of respect for the occasion.

Henry Quartey, the Minister for the Interior, emphasized the importance of observing this day, urging all citizens to participate in the celebrations.

Quartey stated, “The general public is hereby informed that Wednesday, 6th March 2024, which marks Independence Day, is a Statutory Public Holiday and should be observed as such throughout the country.”
